Anticipated Certified Music Teacher K-12 - Vocal/Choir

To develop students' understanding and appreciation of the art of music, including listening to a wide range of musical genre, periods and styles. To identify, promote and develop each student's talents in vocal musical expression.

Develop and administer music education curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.

Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.

Develops balanced music program and lessons to organize class time so that students have adequate time for preparation, rehearsal, and instruction.

Conducts ongoing assessment of student musical learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.

Utilizes repertoire of all types of music literature, as appropriate.

Plans, coordinates rehearsals for, and directs students in musical programs and performances outside the classroom.

Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.

Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.

Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.

Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to ensure a productive learning atmosphere during practice, rehearsal and performances.

Coordinates with other professional staff members, especially within grade level, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.

Selects and requisitions appropriate music supplies, maintains inventory records, and ensures equipment is in good working order.

Any other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent.

Anticipated Certified Art Teacher K-12

The Art Teacher will perform all or some of the following Job description:

? Teach knowledge and skills in art, including drawing, painting, lettering, and  art history,

? Instruct students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school

? Provide instruction by which students develop aesthetic concepts and appreciations and the ability to make qualitative judgments about art

? Demonstrate techniques in activities such as drawing and painting ? Understand the versatility of acrylic paints: dry brushing, staining, layering, underpainting, monoprinting

? Understand a variety of “masters” techniques

? Knows and can apply elements of design and modern principles of art ? Knows the fundamentals and different approaches to drawing media technique

? Provide individual and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual and artistic abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional activities

? Instruct students in proper care and use of tools and equipment

? Organize storage areas and control use of materials, equipment and tools to prevent loss or abuse, and to minimize time required for distribution and collection

? Evaluate each student’s performance and growth in knowledge and aesthetic understandings, and prepare progress reports

? Select and requisition books, instructional materials, tools, instructional aids, and maintain required inventory records

? Plan and present art displays and exhibitions designed to exhibit students’ work for the school and the community

? May sponsor exhibits from outside the school

? Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school and/or in self-selected professional growth activities

? Communicate with parents and school counselors on pupil progress

? Participate in curriculum and other developmental programs, such as after school art club

? Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Administration
