Anticipated Certified Art Teacher K-12

The Art Teacher will perform all or some of the following Job description:

? Teach knowledge and skills in art, including drawing, painting, lettering, and  art history,

? Instruct students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school

? Provide instruction by which students develop aesthetic concepts and appreciations and the ability to make qualitative judgments about art

? Demonstrate techniques in activities such as drawing and painting ? Understand the versatility of acrylic paints: dry brushing, staining, layering, underpainting, monoprinting

? Understand a variety of “masters” techniques

? Knows and can apply elements of design and modern principles of art ? Knows the fundamentals and different approaches to drawing media technique

? Provide individual and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual and artistic abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional activities

? Instruct students in proper care and use of tools and equipment

? Organize storage areas and control use of materials, equipment and tools to prevent loss or abuse, and to minimize time required for distribution and collection

? Evaluate each student’s performance and growth in knowledge and aesthetic understandings, and prepare progress reports

? Select and requisition books, instructional materials, tools, instructional aids, and maintain required inventory records

? Plan and present art displays and exhibitions designed to exhibit students’ work for the school and the community

? May sponsor exhibits from outside the school

? Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school and/or in self-selected professional growth activities

? Communicate with parents and school counselors on pupil progress

? Participate in curriculum and other developmental programs, such as after school art club

? Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Administration

Anticipated School Bus Monitor

Assist children in boarding and exiting the bus.

Ensure that all children are secured in weight/height appropriate seatbelts or restraints, as required by District Policy or NYS Law.

Visually observe the health of each child on the bus.

Ensure that any behavioral issues do not compromise the safety of any child on the bus or the ability of the bus driver to safely operate the vehicle.

Collaborate with the bus driver to ensure that each child is delivered to the care of the responsible adult upon leaving bus.

Ensure that no child is ever left unattended while on the bus, following all procedures put in place to prevent a child being left behind.

Assist the bus driver with any emergency situations following all rules and regulations as they pertain to school bus safety and child health.

Fill out reports as appropriate.

Any additional responsibilities as may be added by the Superintendent.

Substitute Cleaners Needed - Minimum Wage

Mops, sweeps and washes floors, stairs and hallways, restrooms

Dusts desks, woodwork, furniture and other equipment

Collects and disposes of trash and garbage and empties waste baskets

Takes soiled linens to the laundry

Sorts, folds and stacks clean linens

Fills towel and soap dispensers

Strips and refinishes floors

Delivers mail, packages and supplies

Washes blackboards, sinks and other fixtures

Changes light bulbs

Cleans venetian blinds, mirrors, bathroom fixtures

Reports defective fixtures or mechanical equipment to supervisor

Washes windows, walls, woodwork, tubs, bowls and toilets

May be required to paint rooms and equipment

May perform a variety of building maintenance or repair tasks

May remove snow, ice and other debris from walkways, entrances, driveways and parking lots

Anticipated Certified Music Teacher K-12 - Vocal/Choir

To develop students' understanding and appreciation of the art of music, including listening to a wide range of musical genre, periods and styles. To identify, promote and develop each student's talents in vocal musical expression.

Develop and administer music education curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.

Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.

Develops balanced music program and lessons to organize class time so that students have adequate time for preparation, rehearsal, and instruction.

Conducts ongoing assessment of student musical learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.

Utilizes repertoire of all types of music literature, as appropriate.

Plans, coordinates rehearsals for, and directs students in musical programs and performances outside the classroom.

Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.

Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.

Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.

Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to ensure a productive learning atmosphere during practice, rehearsal and performances.

Coordinates with other professional staff members, especially within grade level, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.

Selects and requisitions appropriate music supplies, maintains inventory records, and ensures equipment is in good working order.

Any other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent.
